Vom 8. bis 10. November fuhren wir wieder nach München in unser Changemaker-Stammlokal vor Ort: Im HUB erwarteten uns außerdem noch 10 weitere Coaches und TeilnehmerInnen des Coaching-Programms, um mit uns das erste offizielle Coaching-Wochenende zu begehen. Vieles stand auf der Agenda, aber Freitag Abend begannen wir nur mit einer kurzen Session zu Erwartungen und aktueller Gemütslage der TeilnehmerInnen. Wir freuten uns sehr, dass mehrere Aktionswillige von fünf Förderprojekten mit am Start waren. Einige andere Projekte konnten teilweise aus Zeitmangel oder Krankheit nicht am Wochenende teilnehmen, sind aber weiterhin Teil des Coaching-Programmes.
Die Projekte des Wochenendes in der Übersicht:
- “MOSAIC” – Fostering intergenerational knowledge on rural lifestyle and farming (Romania)
- “Patents” – Provide information about suppressed patents and encourage people to avoid buying low quality commodities
- “Small Steps” – Facilitating first steps of lifestyle shifts towards sustainable behavior by artistic means
- “Post Growth Forum Theatre” – Creating a forum theatre play to be presented for the first time at the international Degrowth conference 2014 and 15 times in the aftermath
- “Empowering Methodologies” – Conducting workshops for social sciences PhD researchers enabling them to empower the communities they’re working with
Am Samstag morgen nutzten wir die Duschen eines nahegelegenen Schwimmbades, denn das HUB sitzt in diesem Punkt auf dem Trockenen, umso besser, denn so konnten wir gleich noch ein paar Bahnen vor der Arbeit ziehen – im YFP sind wir eben aus der Not heraus manchmal auch kreativ 😉 Nach einer kurzen Projektvorstellung legten die einzelnen Coaches mit ihren Projekten los und brainstormten den gesamten Vormittag über Vision, Ziele und Infrastruktur der Projekte. Nach dem Mittagessen beim Italiener legten wir mit der Erstellung von vorläufigen Finanzplänen los. Anschließend wagten wir ein Experiment: Die Teilnehmenden sollten vollkommen selbstständig die Startfinanzierung unter sich aufteilen, wofür wir ihnen symbolische Schokogeldmünzen bereitgestellt hatten. Gut eine halbe Stunde debattierten die einzelnen Projektaktiven, überlegten hin und her, welche Förderung für welches Projekt am Sinnvollsten sei und einigten sich schließlich im gegenseitigen Einvernehmen über die Zuteilung der Summen. Das bedeutete konkrete: Zwei Projekte sind vorläufig komplett finanziert, der Rest hat dennoch sinnvolle Anschubfinanzierungen erhalten.
Nach einem schönen Sonntagsfrühstück stand eine Tiefenökologieübung auf dem Programm, in der einige Teilnehmer in die Rollen der 7. Generation nach uns schlüpfen und einigen im Heute gebliebenen zuhören, wie sie von den inneren und äußeren Zuständen der Menschheit im Jahr 2013 berichten. Um nach dieser gefühlsbetont-individuellen Übung wieder den Kopf frei zu kriegen für die Projektarbeit machten wir ein Blitzbrainstorming zu offenen Fragen mit der gesamten Gruppe. In Windeseile warfen die Anwesenden ihre Antworten auf Fragen, wie „How can I explain the concept of biodiversity to a five year old?“ in die Runde. Dann war es an der Zeit, konkrete nächste Schritte zu planen. Mit unseren allernächsten Schritten richteten wir aber erstmal das HUB wieder her und gingen Pizza essen, als dann auch schon der Moment des Abschieds gekommen war. In den kommenden Monaten werden die Projekte nun von den jeweiligen Projektmentoren intensiv begleitet. Eine wichtige Wegmarke wird das zweite Coachingwochenende im Frühjahr 2014 sein, bis zu dem hoffentlich bei den Projekten viele Meilensteine ins Rollen geraten sind…
Die anderen, nicht auf dem Wochenende präsenten Förderprojekte findet ihr hier. Erfahrungsgemäß treten noch einige Veränderungen im Laufe der nächsten Monate auf: Projekte fusionieren, lösen sich auf, vergrößern sich – das liegt vor allem daran, dass die Projekte ehrenamtlich in der Freizeit durchgeführt werden, zeigt aber auch, dass sie sich in einem kreativen und dynamischen Feld bewegen. Then, after having experienced an inspiring time together, we went back to Munich for the first official coaching weekend, again at HUB Munich, again in an inspiring surrounding! There we met around 10 more people, coaches as well as other participants from all over Europe.
We had a tough agenda, but on Friday evening we started with a short session about expectations and the emotional state of the participants. Activists of five projects found their way to Munich, but we also did our best to keep the other four projects in mind. They missed the weekend due to time lack or sickness, but remain still a part of the coaching programme.

Saturday morning we had to be creative to get a shower, for the HUB is not equipped like a hotel. So we went to a nearby swimming hall, took a shower and swam a couple of lanes. How could a working day start better? The first point on our agenda were the short project pitches, followed by a three hour working session, each project with his or her personal coach. Visions, goals and infrastructure of the projects were developed and extended. After this very productive session we had lunch at an Italian restaurant. After that short lunch break we continued elaborating finance plan drafts, which was important because of the experiment that took place afterwards: The participants were assigned to disseminate the amount of 6000€ fully on themselves, meaning that the coaching team was just explaining the basic framework and then left the room. The projects had been given symbolic chocolate money coins in order to allocate them during the money dissemination game. After half an hour they had found a consensus, which meant in practice to have two projects fully financed and enabling the others to finance important single measures of their projects.
On Sunday we chose another approach as the day before by implementing an exercise from Deep Ecology (Joanna Macy), where participants simulate a meeting with descendants from the 7th generation. After a fresh brainstorming session (e.g. „How can I explain the concept of biodiversity to a five year old?“) where the projects could ask their open questions to the whole group, it was time to think about next steps for each project. The very next steps led us again to the Italian restaurant and to the train stations of Munich. A short, but intense weekend ended full of enthusiasm and good memories. From now on the projects will be implemented and accompanied by the coaching team throughout the next months. In spring 2014 there will be another weekend. We hope that many milestones will be rolling until we meet again…

Implementing projects voluntarily is especially for younger people sometimes a tough job! We’ll keep you up to date, however, what the projects deal with and how the coaching is proceeding.
